HINGED FIRE DOORS
Our doors are manufactured strictly in accordance to SANS 1253:2003 edition 3 specifications for fire doors and fire shutters and will provide a rating of up to two hours. The fire retardant slab (core) sandwiched between various types of wood, steel or laminate is constructed from a reinforced insulated material which acts as a fire retardant during the case of a fire. The ironmongery fitted to a fire door is key to the integrity of your fire door and should ne fire rated as well. Non-fired rated ironmongery could cause your door to fail in the case of a fire. Stability is the ability to fulfill its design function of keeping an opening closed in the face of fire so that no fissure or opening wider then 25mm develops. Integrity enables a door to resist fire without perpendicular through openings wider then 6mm and longer in total then the largest dimension of the door. Insultation the ability to prevent the transmission of enough heat to raise the unexposed face temperature but more then 140 degrees Celsius above the initial temperature. An impact test enables the door to resist two successive impacts pf a sandbag 250mm in diameter and a mass of 27kg without the formation of any opening wider then 25mm. All fire doors fitted with glass view panels will have 300x100mm Georgian Wire Safety Glass as per SANS regulations. Note : It is important to fit all exterior fire doors with galvanized or stainless steel sheeting on the outside to protect it from the elements of the weather which we also can provide to our clients.
SLIDING FIRE DOORS
Our sliding doors are manufactured strictly in accordance to SANS 1253:2003 edition 3 specifications for fire doors and fire shutters and will provide a rating of up to two hours. There flushed face appearances and slim-line construction, make them an ideal solution, for openings where headroom restrictions prohibit other types of doors. They can be designed to blend in with the surrounding structure or as a feature, due to their versatility.
ESCAPE DOORS
SANS regulations stipulate that all final Emergency Escape Doors leading directly into day-light opening need not be a Classed Fire Door however, it must be protected from the elements and fitted with regulatory Escape Hardware. Doors used for emergency exits and fire escapes are mostly hinged doors and MUST ALWAYS OPEN OUTWARDS (in the direction of escape). They must be able to be easily from the inside by any person, in dark or smoky conditions - without the use of keys, tools or special knowledge of the premises or equipment.
